Effort reporting provides assurance to federal sponsors that salaries charged or cost shared to sponsored awards are reasonable in relation to the work performed. Direct effort accounts for the largest single direct expense on sponsored awards and, each quarter, must be certified to ensure compliance with federal regulations. What tools are available to help departmental administrators process and get Personal Activity Reporting (PAR) certified on time? This discussion will describe tools for processing, reviewing and troubleshooting PARs. Participants are encouraged to bring a computer and their questions and concerns about the effort reporting and payroll reallocation process.
