In this class will review the process of writing effective grant applications and assembling a good proposal to foundations and charities. We will present the basic components of a competitive grant proposal, including the common pitfalls to avoid in grant writing and submission. We will discuses appropriate project funding sources as well as establishing positive sponsor relationships, satisfying sponsor requirements, and the proposal review process. Finally, we will provide an overview of Non-Profit & Philanthropy Resources available at the Marriott Library.

At the conclusion of this class, you should be able to:
  • Describe how to write an effective grant proposal
  • Summarize common components of a grant proposal for foundations and charities
  • Identify resources available for finding and communicating with potential funders
