This is a specialized course conducted by senior administrators at the University offered to all new and experienced researchers. We will discuss effective project management for various funding sources using web tools and management reports. We will explain the administration of grants and contracts for federal projects as well as compliance with agency rules, University requirements, and financial reporting guidelines. We will also describe management accounting and grants and contracts accounting policies including time and effort reporting, the facilities and administrative (F&A) rate, and cost accounting standards for educational institutions.

Upon completing this class you should be able to:
  • Identify federal standards and University policies for cost accounting
  • Summarize policies for proper management accounting
  • Demonstrate how to use web tools and management reports available at the University
