Full course description

Participants will learn how to plan for and write a competitive grant proposal, and how the Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP) provides assistance throughout the submission and review process. We will discuss how to submit a proposal to the OSP and what to expect during the review process. Because there are numerous sponsor guidelines and University policies to consider when preparing a proposal, we'll explain strategies for handling them efficiently.

At the conclusion of this class, you should be able to:
  • Describe how to find a potential sponsor
  • Respond to a funding opportunity announcement (FOA)
  • Identify the various proposal formats and components in developing proposal plans
  • Use a logic model to develop proposals for grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements
  • Explain how to submit a proposal to the Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP) and what to expect during the review process
