REd Best Practice Networks are 1 hour in length with a 15-minute presentation and a 45-minute discussion that are led by subject matter experts. Participants are expected to come prepared with any questions that they may have and to engage in a conversation with the facilitator and their peers.
Class Description: Health equity begins with research participation equity. By recognizing and understanding how our own biases may impact research recruitment efforts, we can identify ways to begin to dissolve health care disparities for our community. What is health equity and how does that impact research as a whole? Where can resources be accessed to improve study diversity? How can we build a bridge to the community our research targets? This discussion will describe what it means to be culturally and linguistically appropriate and how we can find ways to address health care disparities through our work in research.
Class Duration: This training will take approximately 1 hour (15-minute presentation and 45-minute Q&A).
