REd Best Practice Networks are 1 hour in length with a 15-minute presentation and a 45-minute discussion that are led by subject matter experts. Participants are expected to come prepared with any questions that they may have and to engage in a conversation with the facilitator and their peers.

Class Description: Douglas Wawrzynski, J.D., Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP), will lead a panel discussion and question & answer session on how contracts reduce risk to investigators, their teams, and the University. The relationship between informed consent forms and subject injury clauses, indemnification protections and limitations, and intellectual property rights in sponsor-initiated research versus investigator-initiated research, will be explored.

Class Duration: This training will take approximately 1 hour (15-minute presentation and 45-minute Q&A).
