Participants will better understand the purpose and requirements for data and safety monitoring plans in human subject research. This presentation will include instruction on how to determine the need for a data and safety monitoring plan, as well as how to design an adequate plan for data and safety monitoring. Best practices for establishing a monitoring board or committee will also be discussed.
