Full course description

THIS LISTING IS THE TBA SESSION OF THIS CLASS. To be notified when a session of this class is scheduled, or if you cannot attend the already scheduled course, please enroll in this class.

Research in the social and behavioral sciences is becoming increasingly interdisciplinary. Grant reviewers are called upon to evaluate more and more varied proposals. To make funding decisions, panelists are considering not only the feasibility and academic rigor of proposed research, but research that is timely and demonstrates broad societal impact. This workshop will focus on the basic elements of proposal writing and grantsmanship, emphasizing effective communication with grant reviewers both within and outside of the specific discipline. Participants will better understand how to clearly define research objectives, how to describe broadly accessible theoretical impacts of the research, and how to explain the manner in which the research will transform science and impact society.
