Ended Oct 29, 2019

Full course description

Monday, October 28th, 2019 Health Sciences Education Building (HSEB), Room 2600

The Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap) system is a secure, web-based application useful for clinical trials, translational and basic research. REDCap offers stream-lined processes for building online surveys, managing collected data, and supporting related administrative tasks. Participants will learn how to login, create a new project, build a survey and data collection form, add users to a project, visualize data and export it to Excel or common statistical packages (SPSS, SAS, Stata, R). Additional features such as a built-in project calendar, a scheduling module, ad hoc reporting tools, branching logic, file uploading and calculated fields will also be described. The Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS) Biomedical Informatics Core (BMIC) supports REDCap as it provides users the ability to collect and manage their data with minimal need for professional IT assistance, and to work from anywhere in a secure, HIPAA compliant environment.
