Class Description: The Departments of Commerce and State govern the exportation and dissemination of technical data, research results, inventions, and equipment. This class will help you understand and comply with University and federal export control policies.

At the conclusion of this class, you should be able to:

• Summarize the purpose and export controls
• Identify federal regulations and University policy concerning export controls
• Define key terms including public domain, deemed export, and federal research
• Describe compliance practices for licensing
• Identify penalties for noncompliance
