This is a REd Synchronous (live) class.

LIVE SESSION: LIVE SESSION: Friday, October 31, 2025 @11:00am - 12:00pm, Mountain Time (US and Canada), Zoom.

This class focuses on the power of writing with strong, active verbs to create compelling and impactful proposals. We will cover essential techniques for writing in the active voice, avoiding nominalizations (converting verbs into nouns), selecting strong verbs, and ensuring that your sentences convey their main action. Enhance your grant writing skills by learning how to energize your proposals and make them stand out.

 

Objectives:

·                  Understand the importance of using strong, active verbs in grant proposals.

·                  Learn how to use the active voice effectively.

·                  Develop skills to avoid turning verbs into nouns.

·                  Learn how to choose strong verbs.

REd Synchronous classes are taught by subject matter experts, and provide both fundamental and advanced skills training in flipped classroom format. These classes are offered live (currently, via Zoom), wherein participants will attend and participate in the 1-hour live lecture/presentation. Participants will be required to work pre-class and post-class activities outside the classroom. These activities can include: readings, videos, etc.

Class Duration: Total duration for synchronous classes are approximately 2 hours. Those two (2) hours will be broken down into:

  • A live session which will take approximately 1 hour (45-minute presentation and 15-minute Q&A) and;
  • Pre and Post-work activities which will take approximately 1 hour, in total.
