The Technology & Venture Commercialization office (TVC) at The University of Utah has managed the University's intellectual property developed by faculty, staff, and students since 1967. Through the establishment of the commercial partnerships with industry, the development of products from these technologies, TVC benefits the public and promotes economic growth.
This class will explore the TVC's role in intellectual property protection, patent requirements, what help the Marriott Library can provide, and how you can help the TVC.
At the conclusion of this class, you should be able to:
- Identify the purpose of the TVC
- Define different types of intellectual property
- Describe TVC's role at the University.
- Identify resources in searching for documents, patent, and trademark information at the Marriott Library.
